Rare Disease Day -February 28
February 28, 2023

The celebration of Rare Disease Day, which takes place on the last day of February, aims to improve access to treatment
and medical representation for people with rare diseases and their families. The day was established in 2008 by the European Organization
for Rare Diseases to raise awareness of illnesses that are either not known about or are often ignored. That organization claims that
there is insufficient support for individuals with rare diseases and their families, as well as inadequate treatment for many rare
diseases; Additionally, there had not previously been a day to represent those affected by rare diseases, despite the fact that
numerous days were already devoted to people with specific diseases.
The rare diseases community is brought into a dialogue by Kerala Academy of Pharmacy, which
is beneficial to both parties. To advance research and therapeutic efforts, share the most recent information about rare
diseases with stakeholders
