Kerala academy pharmacy announces today the world forest day with much pomp and splendour. Today we mark it as a sign of respect to our society and a thanks to the sacrifice of many plants for the wellness of ensuring Ayurveda and its forms of traditional medicine. In the right vedas, it is described that forests ‘Vann ‘ as an abode of luxury for us for whatever we desire, we shall get from it and get in abundance. Traditional medicine making by Lord dhanvantari was conceptualized using the concept of forests and it’s plants in general. Dhanvantri derived many life changing herbs from these forests of ancient India and today all of these herbs have gained medicinal value as successful in an international platform. These herbal medicines have gained popularity as amazing herbs that cure illness of sorts and can even save lives. Such is the impact of Ayurveda in the field of pharmacy where we have raised our pillars . In a way, we shall thank Lord dhanvantri, the God of medicine who had imparted his knowledge from our very culture and raised our heritage by finding herbs and plants that carry medicinal value. Mint oil Eucalyptus and lavender oil are some of the awesome oils that are derived from the forest and this is how medicine and all fragrant oils have evolved from time immemorial. Today at KAP, we thank all the medicinal plants and herbs that has given US so much advancement and propelled our Pharmaceutical Sectors from the Indian segment to greater heights and for that we thank mother nature.
