World Health day is an annual day event celebrated universally on April 7 of this year. This year also marks the 92nd anniversary of WHO, World Health Organization which is an advocate of international health priorities . This lovely day is also for us to doe our gratitude and a thanksgiving remembrance Day to all our medical / health sector staffs workers and our students , who put their life on a risk on a daily basis and serving the medical community. This year’s theme in point being – Our planet, Our Health” is an international theme that highlights the unanimous voices of all international institutes , that are in favour of the medical sector.
Today, We – At Kerala academy of Pharmacy , proudly announce and commemorate the widespread medical resources and facilities and it’s magnificent success that , we as a race, have achieved in the health science sector. World health day s also a day to celebrate good health and well being of body, mind and soul.
From the ancient scripts of Lord Dhanvantri to modern English medicine, we have taken the best of both worlds and have advanced to the premium quality of medical facilities. It is rightly mentioned in the old Veda that, Ancient India – magnanimous in wildness and culture and it’s rich forest lands is a heavenly place, full of life saving herbs and pain numbing cures . We can even say that India is in a way blessed by geography, also is the world’s first centre where intricate surgeries were performed using herbal , siddha Ayurveda concepts and slowly these concepts spread to the east beyond Persia and to china and then onwards reached global level over centuries . It wasn’t until early 14th century when Leonardo Da Vinci , a Renaissance demigod in essence, performed the first gruesome post-mortem to draw and describe the functions of the organs and how it looked like and how it worked. Anatomy wasn’t even a subject then but Leonardo Da Vinci paved way to proliferate pure science.
Today using modern medication methods and ancient techniques from siddha and Ayurveda and various neuro concepts like Chinese acupuncture are also used in the medical sector. Leonardo once claimed that, the feet is a marvel of engineering as all nerve endings reached the feet. Kerala academy of Pharmacy has established it’s understanding and conceptual learning from Kerala’s very own Pankajakasthuri group headed by Hareendran Nair , who have used siddha medicine as the base modem of all cure . A bachelor of medicine is now dedicated specially for Ayurveda concepts, that is, B. A.M.S -Bachelor of Ayurveda medicine and surgery which is a 5 year course with MD s in learning tantras and this equals to an MBBS degree doctorate. We have advanced in the various medical sectors from not just Ayurveda and other ancient Indian concepts ranging from home clinics to advance siddha surgeries and tactical medicine concepts but also in performing operations in life saving transplantations of major organs and also giving miracle products for the disabled and the old. Many scientific advancements in the field ranging from infertility specialized IVF centres to simultaneous bone joining using steel to performing massive surgeries involving of all organs and curing any damage in the physical, ad mental health of humanity.
