It is 22nd April of 2022 and it’s one of the best days of the year. Why? It’s world earth day. Our blue planet , which is by far the most suitable planet that carry life in a thousands of forms and the sustainability to balance the natural resources gifted by mother Nature.
In this year’s 2022 , we at Kerala academy of pharmacy have joined hands with multiple non profit organizations to promote and create an awareness campaign for the welfare and wellness of our planet earth.
Earth is a planet that is nearly 4.6 billion years old. It has seen the fall of the dinosaurs and the rise and evolution of homosapiens and witnessed wars of ages and many occurrences before that . We are a minute thing when considered with the magnanimity of the planet. Our planet is fast reclining in resources and green trees are cut and forests and living destroyed due to the voluptuous greed of humans , who act with no humanity at all. Trees are felled at a rapid rate to create city and encourage urbanisation. Water resources, both drinking and sanitary water is polluted by toxins and various other factory pollutants that cause air, noise and water pollution. It is clear that we as humans have lost our track to development and no ethics is followed as far as money is involved.
Kerala academy of pharmacy has taken a bold initiative against such hazardous nature destroying activities that kills habitat and true natural feel of the atmosphere. Ecosystems of various plants, animals and birds are damaged and this is why we must raise rapid awareness campaigns and create afforestation instead of deforestation. A good example is a comedian from South India who had planted 28 lakhs of trees for the wellness of our habitat and it was an idea planted by DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, who had shared this to the actor. There was a national award honour winning who had planted a whole forest for the welfare of the nation. Building forests need not be a dire effort, chipko movement by our government has a slogan, “ Each one, Plant one “ . It can be this simple to save nature and condemn all hazards of pollution, be it noise, air and water pollution. Kerala academy of Pharmacy, which has taken Ayurveda , Siddha and Herbal base of medicinal values from the very tool of Ayurveda and herbal science , otherwise known as God’s own country, this itself is proof that KAP cares a lot about nature and it’s natural resources. As in Indian culture , Vedas were written to inform generations of youth to take nature as a serious element to be nurtured and to nurture as long as life is present in us. As Eugene once famously remarked ,

This year at Kerala academy of Pharmacy we have joined with both staff and students to commemorate the annual event of celebrating international earth day with much pomp and grandeur. Our planet can cause no damage if we keep our body and mind to peace and to live one with nature. This year on April 22 2022 , the world earth day celebrations are a kind warning to the private and public sectors of business sectors to maintain a earth friendly products usage and production protocol to maintain the balance of the ecosystems. This year’s world earth day theme 2022, it’s, Invest in our planet’ .
The theme stands true to the grassroots policy of our ancestors who stood and relied on the bountiful harvests of nature rather than contaminating it by destroying it’s ecosphere. Cleaning of rivers with projects like Cauvery calling and afforestation on the hillsides and seaside like sunderbans mangrove forests is proof that the activism had began to take fruition . KAP boldly represent the pharmaceutical companies and shops sector which had nie become economic and Eco-friendly and sharing a base strength line with nature and natural resources.
