Tuberculosis is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis and primarily affects the lungs, but can also infect other parts of the body. It is spread through the air when infected individuals cough, sneeze, or talk, making it highly contagious.
On World TB Day observed on March 24th of every year, organizations and communities around the world come together to raise awareness about the disease and promote strategies for prevention and treatment. This includes encouraging people to get tested and seek treatment if they suspect they have TB, advocating for improved access to healthcare services, and supporting research efforts to develop better treatments and a vaccine. By raising awareness and taking action, Kerala Academy of Pharmacy intends to eliminate TB and create a healthier and more equitable world for all.
